Will
my record affect my employment?
Many existing state and federal laws make it extremely difficult
for people with criminal records to seek and obtain employment.
Some facts you may not know:
» Most states
allow employers to legally reject job applicants who have been
arrested but never convicted.
» Most states allow
employers to deny jobs to or fire anyone with a criminal record.
» Your criminal record is
accessible to employers.
Will my record affect my education?
In the Higher Education Act it states
that financial assistance can be denied to students on the basis
of ANY drug offence. Approximately 140,000 students have been
denied financial aid because of this legality.
Getting your record sealed:
Obtaining a seal allows you to move on with your life. Your
police, state attorney, other agencies, and court records are
physically sealed and put away in a secured vault. Once your
record is sealed, your entire record including booking photos,
fingerprints, deposition and arrest record will no longer be
available to the public.
